Born in Dublin in 1963 I immigrated to Canada in 1984 as a nanny and shortly thereafter joined the Irish Canadian Club. Being a stranger in a new country I was welcomed warmly into the Irish Canadian community. I have been a member of the executive since 1994 holding the positions of Building Chair, Inside Entertainment and Outside Entertainment. I have 2 daughters and currently run a home daycare and am proud to share my Irish heritage with my children and the kids in the daycare. I look forward to the challenges of being President of the Irish Canadian Club and welcome all members to come out and support your Club.

I was born in Canada but my father’s family was from Antrim County this was my way of learning about my Irish Heritage.
My wife was born in Salt hill, Galway and came to Canada in 1970 where we meet and married in 1974, we then became involved with the club over the years at Christmas and St Patrick’s Day events. .
During my 39 years with TD Bank and raising three children it was difficult to become as involved with the club as much as I would have liked to.
Retiring seven years ago has afforded me this opportunity and I joined the Board 5 years ago as treasurer. It is a fulfilling and rewarding way of the serving the club.
Enjoy the many events and people associated with the club. We can all enjoy the various activities that take place here over the year.

I have been a member of the club since 1982, and have been a member of the Board since 1986 – as Publicity Director, President and Vice President. As a historian by trade, I have written and lectured extensively on the history of the Club and the wider Irish community in Hamilton and Canada.
I am proud to have arranged funding from the Irish Government’s Emigrant Support Programme for the chair lift for our seniors and for renovations and expansion of our library and audio-visual system.
I have also written and produced our Bloomsday celebrations of James Joyce for several years, and 2013’s centenary commemoration of the 1913 Dublin Lockout.

I enjoy participating and help organizing various activities in the Club and have always felt that being an active participant and committed to the Irish Canadian Club will help it grow strong and continue into the future. I am particularly encouraged to see the active participation of our 2nd Generation members, on the executive and in our social activities.

This is my second term as membership chair, which I am enjoying meeting the Irish Canadian Club community. I have been a member of the Irish Club since 1971, never previous holding a seat on the committee, but working with Jim for the 25 years he ran the ICC golf tournament.
I am a born Canadian, from Sarnia, Ontario married to Jim Synnott from Wicklow Ireland. Over the years, have been fortunate to form many longtime friendships within the Irish community, and would love to see the next generation be able to experience this as well. There are so many opportunities available to young people but the Irish Canadian Club has been and should continue to be a fabulous meeting place to celebrate your Irish Canadian heritage in years to come. Become a member and enjoy it.

Hi members my name is Mike Frearson and I am this year’s entertainment executive. I have been a member of the Irish Canadian Club executive for the past three years. After holding the publicity position during those years, I am now excited to have moved into the entertainment position.
For those of you who don’t know me, I am Joan Frearson’s(Kelly) eldest son. I was re-introduced to the Irish Club through my Aunt, Ann Kelly, who was the membership executive at the time (nice work Ann ☺ ) and have also recently joined the Celtic Club through my Uncle, Eugene Kelly. My Parents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins have been club members over the years and I fondly remember the days of my youth attending Irish Club Christmas parties and picnics. My wife Toni and I are now looking forward to enjoying these events with our son Ryan.
If you have any suggestions for entertainment at the club, please feel free to email me at : email@example.com
